I have always been inspired by Clay Enos’ street portraits and the ease that he handles the random subjects. The amount of interesting people who I met while spending a few hours on the beach and lakefront yesterday was a great time. Taking some impromptu portraits was pretty cool in itself, but how nice everyone was about it was humbling. I think that less than a handful of people declined politely, everyone else was “ready to be famous” as one guy put it.
From vinyl collectors, exotic pet owners, lots of big sunglasses and even a few old high school classmates the afternoon at the beach was worth the sunburn. One lens, one camera and 1,000’s of people. I think I traveled too light, should have brought some sunscreen. Enjoy the portraits and leave your thoughts in the comments below.
